From San Antonio: From Loop 410 in San Antonio, go north on Bandera Hwy (State Hwy 16). Go through Helotes 10.7 miles to the Park Road 37 intersection. Turn left and go 11 miles to the next Thousand Trails sign. Turn right onto the street before the sign.

From Kerrville: From I-10, turn south onto State Hwy 16 for about 1/4-mile. Turn left on Loop 534 and go to FM 173. Turn left on FM 173 and drive 24 miles to Bandera. Turn left on Main Street in Bandera and go to State Hwy 16 south. Turn left and drive nine miles to Pipe Creek. Turn right at FM 1283, and drive 9 miles to Park Road 37. Turn right and go 1.5 miles to the Thousand Trails sign.

From Northeast: Take Hwy 46 at I-35, New Braunfels (or where it intersects with U.S. 281). Travel west on Hwy 46 to State Hwy 16. Turn right onto State Hwy 16 and drive 3 miles to Pipe Creek. Turn left on FM 1283 and drive 9 miles on FM 1283 to Park Road 37. Turn right and drive 1.5 miles to the Thousand Trails sign.

Preserve Description
This 260-acre preserve along the shores of Medina Lake lies in the famous Hill Country of Texas. Hunting, boating and fishing are popular in the area. The region contains several dude ranches, and nearby Bandera (the "Cowboy Capital of the World") offers horseback rides, square dancing, rodeos, and chuckwagon dinners. In San Antonio (40 miles) you can visit the Alamo, Sea World, the Heart of Texas (visitor entertainment center), Fiesta Texas Theme Park, and more.
