Theme Weekends 2009

April 3rd- 5th  KIDS ONLY EASTER WEEKEND Sturbridge is finally open after that snowy cold winter so let's kick off the season for the little ones with egg coloring and Easter crafts. We are sure we will have a colorful weekend!

April 10th-12th  EASTER WEEKEND This weekend is for family, a quiet, with beautiful scenery surrounding what is most important thing in the world….your family.

April 17th-19th  EARTHDAY WEEKEND Let's get down and dirty, we’ll do our part with nature walks and clean our campground followed by a potluck dinner.

April 24th-26th  INTERNATIONAL WHISTLERS WEEKEND Whistle while you wok.. The only work you will do is having fun here at Sturbridge. So pucker up!

POOL & SPA SCHEDULED TO OPEN MAY 1ST!!!

May 1st-3rd  CINCO DE MAYO WEEKEND “Ole” Senors’ & Senoritas we will be having a mucho good time here at Sturbridge. We will sing and dance, have a potluck dinner with  Spanish cuisine, so put your sombrero on and cha cha your way here.   

May 8th-10th  MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND Moms & Grand moms this is your weekend we will keep the kiddies busy that is our gift for you. We will have an adult craft to bond with other great moms like you. 

May 15th-17th  ARMED FORCES WEEKEND Sturbridge salutes all who have been in the Military. You have all given to us so we want to give a little back in your honor, We will make cards &  take collections for our troops overseas.

 

May 22nd-25th  MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND This is the first big weekend of the year, we will have lots to do. Entertainment like Shirley Macaffe and DJ RB at night, we will also have hay wagon rides, crafts and a cook-out. With all this to do this might be a 3-day weekend but it will feel only like one.

May 29th-31st  NATIONAL BBQ MONTH WEEKEND Grab the charcoal; pack up the kids, put on those aprons lets fire it up let the contest begin. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers with special BBQ sauce entries from the contest and many more for all of us we have DJ karaoke to sing the praises to the cooks.

June 5th-7th  THINK GREEN WORLD ENVIROMENT WEEKEND We are the green team from Sturbridge we will do recycling and lights out. We will do what we do best light the campfire sing tunes under the bright stars in the sky.

June 12th-14th  FLAG DAY WEEKEND Its red, white and blue for you here, we’ll respectively play all day. We’ll have crafts and contests with star spangled galore.

June 19th-21st  FATHERS DAY WEEKEND Hello fatter.. here we are at camp Granada, no that not right we are at Sturbridge to celebrate Fathers day We can call this weekend appreciation weekend to the one of the most important people in all of our lives. 

June 26th-28th  WESTERN WEEKEND Yee-haw! its finally that time so kick up those heels and grab your partner because we're gonna have a western band here. Break out your boots and that plaid shirt to swing your partner 'round.

July 3rd-5th  STAR SPANGLRD FUN WEEKEND Let's celebrate lots of activities, games wagon rides, crafts, music all day. At night we have DJ RB‘s game show and on the 4th we have once again Yankee pro wrestling.

July 10th-12th  PROM WEEKEND Get out those dresses--shake out the moth balls, put your hair in a do. There will be a best dressed contest with a prom queen & king here!  Karaoke slow and fast to dance with the queen of your life.

July 17th-19th   CHRISTMAS IN JULY Ho ho ho! its that time of year-- sleigh rides in the sand, cold cocoa around the fire, the summer air does not have Jack Frost around here, but we will get a visit from St. Nick.

July 24th-26th   50’S WEEKEND Grease up that hair get the poodle shirts on we gonna rock this night away So Jitter bug your way here for a rock’n good time  entertainment performed By Shirley Mcafee.

July 31st-Aug 2nd   NATIONAL CLOWN WEEKEND Stop clowning around at home and come to the campground for real laughs we will be featuring The acrobatic The Waltens and at night a magician so all of you fit in the car to have a great weekend.

 

Aug 7th-9th  HOBO WEEKEND Stop bumming around and get down & dirty here. We will have worst dressed, crafts and more with entertainment by DJ RB.

Aug 14th-16th ELVIS WEEKEND Elvis left the building to come to Sturbridge so put your blue suede shoes on and we’All have some jail house ROCK with ELVIS.

Aug 21st-23rd   SUNNY ST. PATRICKS DAY WEEKEND The luck of the Irish is here! Sturbridge is the pot of Gold. This weekend. there will be a hypnotist to make the leprechauns in all of us come out.

Aug 28th-30th   KARAOKE CRAZY WEEKEND Come and sing, sing a song…. all night long….Pick out a tune of your choice, sing all day and night. We will have contest and the booby prize.  

Sept 4th-6th   LABOR DAY WEEKEND It can’t be true--the last summer holiday, so let's go out with a bang! Shirley Mcafee will help us on this one, wet & wild hay rides, crafts, cookouts, bonfire this labor day lets work… at having fun. 

Sept 11th-13th   GRANDPARENTS DAY WEEKEND Kids lets appreciate all of our grandparents with the beautiful scenery and serenity they deserve. We will make gifts and show them how important they are with a quiet tranquil weekend here at Sturbridge.

Sept 18th-20th  1st DAY OF AUTUMN WEEKEND Don’t leave for the season we still have more the colors, the scenery will put raking out of your mind… until you see Sturbridge in the fall you have not lived. Orange, red, yellow that’s what its about in New England.

Sept 25th-27th   NATIVE AMERICAN DAY WEEKEND Let's go back in time, go fishing in our fall fishing contest--winner takes all… we will have corn husking contest, Indian jewelry making.. so put those moccasins on and have a heapin' good time.

 

Oct 2nd-4th SWEETEST DAY WEEKEND Valentines Day in October--yes, it is bring your sweetheart to Sturbridge for a romantic camping experience, moonlight, stars in the sky glimmer just like the ones in your eyes.

Oct 9th-11th   COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND The Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria will be stopping off here in Sturbridge for the last three day weekend of the year. This weekend would make the Pilgrims be aware that Sturbridge is the place to be.

Oct 16th-18th   THANKSGIVING DAY WEEKEND Gobble gobble--it's Turkey Day! It might be early but its never too late to sit with friends and family to enjoy a Turkey potluck dinner with all the fix’ns for all to share.

Oct 23rd-25th   HALLOWEEN WEEKEND Yes! it's time for the annual Halloween ball, get your costumes ready for a  frightfully good time!

Oct 30th-Nov 1st   NEW YEARS EVE WEEKEND Let's go out with a bang and drop our own ball at midnight for the last weekend of the year. We will celebrate the past year with fun knowing  the fun never really stops at Sturbridge--it happens year after year!
