Theme Weekends 2008

January 4- 6: A New Year Weekend

Finally 2007 is over and 2008 is here! Come and join us as we begin the New Year off right. Come and sit by the pool or relax by the campfire. This year just might be your year so why not spend it with us. You are sure to have a good time.

 

January 11- 13: Winter Wonderland Weekend

Bust out the winter jacket and gloves because we are going to have fun in the snow. Enter into the snow sculpting contest or play some winter football. You are sure to have a fun time with all the winter activities in store. Then when it’s all done you can snuggle up next to the fire with a nice cup of hot cocoa.

 

January 18- 20: Tropical Weather Weekend

Although it may be in the teens outside it’s going to be warm and relaxing inside. Relax by the indoor pool or soak it up in the Jacuzzi. Don’t forget to wear your tropical clothing and who could forget doing the limbo or the hula hoop contest. 

 

January 25- 27: Battle of the Sexes Weekend

Here’s the chance to finally prove who is really better, men or women. Join us for our various activities that will pit men versus women. It will be a competition of the brain and brawn. This weekend is for all the bragging rights.

 

February 1- 3: Super Bowl Weekend

It’s the weekend of the Super Bowl! Come out and root on your favorite team and see if you can predict who will win. There is sure to be more fun as well, see how good you are at Football trivia. Also don’t forget to watch all the entertaining commercials!

 

February 8- 10: A Weekend in Italy

How does spaghetti and meatballs sound, or how about a game of soccer in the snow? If this sparks your interest then join us for Italian weekend. This weekend everyone is Italian so don’t miss out.

 

February 15- 17: Valentines Day Weekend

Here’s your chance to show how much you truly care for your sweetheart. Don’t forget the flowers and chocolate! Also feel free to join us and see how well you really know your partner in our Valentines Day Games. It’s sure to be a memorable weekend.

 

February 22- 24: Mysterious Way

Can you solve the mystery that has occurred at Outdoor World? You are going to need your detective skills in order to get through this weekend. Watch out though you may just become part of the mystery if you don’t solve it fast enough.

 

February 29- March 2: Casino Weekend

Think luck is on your side and that you could win the jackpot? Well come and find out as we play some of your favorite casino games from Roulette to Black Jack. Who knows maybe you will strike it rich.

 

March 7- 9: 50's & 60's Weekend

Remember the 50’s or 60’s? Of course you do! Join us in celebrating the way it used to be. Get out those old clothes and enter the costume contest or try your luck at trivia. You’re going feel like the 50’s and 60’s were just yesterday after you’re done with this weekend.

March 14 - 16: The Luck 'o the Irish
Follow that rainbow to Sturbridge and you will find a pot of gold. The little leprechauns have been hard at work preparing for this holiday, so wear your best green threads to do an Irish jig and then finish off with our Annual St. Patty's Day Potluck Dinner. Don't forget.the summer on Site Lottery will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, march 16th. Please contact the campground for more information.

March 21 - 23: You Silly Rabbit
You know who will be hopping down the bunny trail to Sturbridge hiding his eggs for our traditional hunt, grab your basket and join in.

March 28 - 30: Vogue Weekend

Point, click, shoot or just strike a pose. This weekend is all about photography. Maybe you'll win first prize in our best picture contest.

April 4 - 6: Leap Frog Weekend
April 5th is national Frog Day. That's "wart's" happening at Sturbridge so hop on over and join us.

April 11 - 13: Titanic Remembrance Weekend
We're dedicating this weekend to the memory of the Titanic and the 1,522 passengers and crew members that lost their lives when the luxury cruise liner called "unsinkable" and the "safest ship afloat" sank on her maiden voyage from England to New York City.

April 18 - 20: Paul Revere Weekend
This is the perfect time to take a day trip over to Boston and walk "The Freedom Trail", visit the USS. Constitution and maybe grab a bite to eat at famous Faneuil Hall.

April 25 - 27: Arbor Day Weekend
Enjoy the quaint scenery here at Sturbridge and join us as we plant a tree to add to the natural beauty of our lovely park.

May 2 - 4: May Day Weekend
The snow is finally gone and the leaves are being raked, it's time to get back to normal for goodness' sake. Let's get those spades and shovels out and welcome spring to Sturbridge by adding some color to the park.

May 9 - 11: Mommy Knows Best
Show your Mom how much you care. Bring her to a craft and make mushy cards. She can spend her afternoon relaxing in the spa while we prepare a potluck dinner in her honor.

May 16 - 18: Sixteen Candles
This weekend we'll celebrate everyone's birthday, the old, the young and those in denial. We'll gather around the cake and just simply smile.

May 23 - 26: Memorial Day Weekend
Celebrate Memorial Day with our summer kick off. This weekend starts off our summer season. We'll be dancing on the patio and kayaking by day with many other activities for this last weekend in May.

May 30 - June 1: Princess Weekend
There are no ugly stepsisters here, only beautiful princesses. We'll all do our part to treat you like a queen.

June 6 - 8: Fishing Derby Weekend
Get out those poles and grab your bait, $2.00 a head, the fish can hardly wait. There'll be only one prize, we can't believe our eyes, Oh my gosh.look at the size!!!

June 13 - 15: Father's Day Weekend
Bring Dad down to Sturbridge for fishing, hiking and more. We'll bring him on a hay ride, so pack a cooler full of snacks. You'll treat your Dad like a king as he deserves. DJ Dave on Saturday.

June 20 - 22: Baseball Weekend
There'll be no strikes at Sturbridge, everything is one home run after another. Saturday, game show w/DJ Dave.

June 27 - 29: Star Wars Weekend
If "the force" is strong within you, you'll heed Yodas advice and join us for a Sci-Fi themed costume dance that's sure to bring out the alien in you. DJ Dave on Saturday.

July 3 - 6: Star Spangled Weekend

Celebrate your independence. Start that grill, get the burgers a cookin', keep plenty of ice in the cooler and celebrate with a bang. Magician on Friday and DJ Dave on Saturday.

July 11 - 13: Christmas in July
Even Santa needs a vacation and guess where he goes? He comes to Sturbridge, ho, ho, ho. Dick and Geneva on Saturday.

July 18 - 20: Stick Out Your Tongue Weekend
It's not what you think, we know they are pink. We'll have food tasting contests and plenty to drink. Yankee Pro Wrestling on Saturday.

July 25 - 27: New York, NY
In 1788 New York became a state. We know they came up with sirloin strip, let's see what else makes them great. DJ Dave on Saturday.

August 1 - 3: Friendship Weekend
Come in for the weekend or stay a bit longer. Park your rig on a site and look left and right to meet old friends and new. Let's get the fire pit roarin' and sing some songs through the night. DJ Dave on Saturday.

August 8 - 10: American Artist Appreciation Weekend
Grab your crayons and your paintbrushes and bring your imagination along with your camping gear for a fun filled weekend of arts and crafts here at Sturbridge. DJ Dave on Saturday.

August 15 - 17: Full Moon Fever
Let's get crazy this weekend! There'll be activities and more. Crafts for the kids, dancing in the moonlight and a romantic moonlight hayride. Strolling Magician on Saturday.

August 22 - 24: Mexican Independence Weekend
It's fiesta time! It'll be muy caliente here at Sturbridge. We'll have a potluck dinner Mexican style and then Mambo the night away. DJ Dave on Saturday.

August 29 - September 1: Labor Day Weekend
This is a weekend for the working class people with no work and all play. We'll enjoy entertainment nightly and keep the kids busy all day. There'll be no work at all, just play, play, play! Yankee Pro Wrestling on Saturday and DJ Dave on Sunday.

September 5 - 7: Grandparents Day
Bring Nana and Poppa, we'll spoil them rotten. We'll make cards and gifts and make this a very special weekend for Grammy and Grampy.

September 12 - 14: National Peanut Weekend
Just like the squirrels and Jimmy Carter, we at Sturbridge will celebrate National Peanut Weekend. We'll eat peanut butter sandwiches, make a peanut craft and have a peanut contest because we're just nuts about peanuts!


September 19 - 21: You Say Potato, I Say Potato
Let's whip up some fun at Sturbridge. We'll have a bake potato potluck dinner. We supply the potatoes so be sure to bring plenty of fixins'. Mr. Potato Head has nothing on us!

September 26 - 28: Crush a Can Weekend Recycle!
Let's all do our part to clean up the park. All are welcome to help with our Fall Cleanup and we'll thank you with a cookout when our work is done.


October 3 - 5: Chinese National Weekend
This weekend is for all to celebrate. We'll have fried rice and Teriyaki chicken at night after a full day of celebrating Chinese National day in our own special way.

October 10 - 13: Columbus Day Weekend
There's the Nina, there's the Pinta. I think I see the Santa Maria. Three days of fall fun bring your firewood and sweaters. Enjoy the rural scenery, fall foliage and much, much more.
