Theme Weekends 2009

May 22 - 25 Memorial Dad Weekend - This weekend will officially kick off our 2009 camping season. We'll do our best to fill your days with lots of fun activities. There will be games, dancing, a putt-putt tournament, horseshoes and lots more. Don't forget to honor those who have served and who continue to proudly serve our country.

May 29 - 31 I Love My Pet Weekend - You know they're a part ofthe family, so bring your favorite four-legged friends with you this weekend.  We'll have a pet parade and prizes awarded to the cutest and best dressed pets. This is the time to show off your pride and joy.

June 5 - 7 Survival Weekend - We'll put your survival skills to the test this weekend. You'll be given a few essential items and some survival training. Find out if you could survive in the elements.

June 12 - 14 50's Weekend - Dig out your poodle skirts and saddle shoes as we take you on a blast to the past. Give the hula-hoop a try and then stop by for a root beer float. Join us for our sock hop on Saturday night and show off your favorite steps.

June 19 - 21 Salute to Dads & Grads - Join us as we honor our Dads and congratulate our Grads. Bring them out for a fun weekend of camping. We'll have father/child activities and tournaments. Dancing is on tap for Saturday night. 

June 26 - 28 Summer Fun Weekend - School's finally out and it's time for fun. We'll have hayrides, pool games, bingo, crafts and more to fill your weekend. There will be an ice cream social on Saturday followed by an evening of great music and dancing.

July 3-5 Star Spangled Weekend - Display your flags, wear your patriotic colors and take pride in being an American this weekend.  Decorate your campsite with lots of red, white & blue. Kids of all ages are welcome to join our annual bike parade. We'll have Bingo, crafts, pool games and horseshoes. Join us Saturday night for dancing on the patio. Let's make it the best "4th of July" celebration ever!

July 10 - 12 Wild, Wild West Weekend - Dust off your cowboy hats & boots and getready for some "boot scootin' boogie". We'll have a bike rodeo and water gun shoot-out for kids of all ages. Come and learn a few line dances (or teach us a new one!) at our dance on Saturday night.

July 17 - 19 Pool Fun Weekend - Don't forget your bathing suit, because we plan to keep you wet all weekend. We'll be making boats to race in the pool. We'll also play water volleyball and have lots of relay races. The pool is the place to be on a hot summer weekend so get ready to stay soaked!

July 24 - 26 Youth Weekend - This weekend is dedicated to our younger members. We'll have kid's movies on Friday night. Try your hand at video games and show off your skills at the pool tournament in the game room. See if you can beat your parents at putt-putt or horseshoes.

July 31 - Aug. 2 Christmas in July - Christmas is in the air this weekend at Williamsburg.  Decorate your campsite like a winter wonderland. We'll take a "sleigh" ride through the campground & have a "snowball" fight with water balloons.

Aug. 7 - 9 Summer Olympics Weekend - Think you could qualify for a real Olympic team? Have a go at it with us and see if you can win a medal or two. We'll set up some track & field events, swimming events, volleyball and more. If all of these athletic endeavors don't wear you out, join us for our dance on Saturday night.

Aug. 14 - 16 Hawaiian Weekend - Forget about the heat and humidity; pretend you're in the islands with the cool breezes blowing. Compete in the hula and limbo contests at our dance on Saturday night. Bring your favorite tropical drinks to enjoy with fellow members. We'll also have an ice cream social before the dance.

Aug. 21 - 23 Talent Show Weekend - If you have a talent that you want the world to see, this is the place to be. We're looking for musicians, singers, dancers, actors, magicians or something we've overlooked.  You provide the entertainment and we'll provide the audience. Come dazzle us with your hidden talent.

Aug. 28 - 30 Pirate Weekend - We'll be seeing plenty of skulls and crossbones in the campground this weekend. Some lucky team will find the buried treasure if they follow the clues correctly. Make sure to come dressed in your best pirate costume to our dance on Saturday night.

 

Sept. 4 - 7 Labor Day Bash - This weekend marks the end of another summer season. Let's send it off with a bang. Crafts, games and an ice cream social will be among the activities. There will be music for your listening and dancing pleasure. We'll try to cram as much fun as we can into this one weekend, so make plans to spend it here with us.

Sept. 11 - 13 Movie Weekend - School is back in session and things have settled down once again. We'll be showing movies so bring your favorite snacks and beverages to the lounge. If movies aren't your scene, there are plenty of games and puzzles to keep you occupied.

Sept. 18 - 20 Halloween Planning Weekend - We couldn't pull off our two great Halloween weekends without a lot of ambitious and talented volunteers. And it all begins now with the master plan. Come help us piece it together. With all of your great ideas, it'll be the best one yet!

Sept. 25 - 27 R & R Weekend - The campground is calm and beautiful this time of year. Bring your family for a relaxing weekend.  It's the perfect time to roast hot dogs over the campfire - don't forget the smores for dessert!  Our indoor pool is always warm and inviting. Curl up with a favorite book or broaden your mind with a challenging puzzle.

Oct. 2 - 4 Bingo Weekend - It's time once again for our fall Bingo weekend. We'll be playing cash Bingo, candy bar Bingo and whatever other kind of Bingo we can dream up. The bigger the crowd, the better the prizes so encourage your fellow members to attend. If you love Bingo, you'll want spend this weekend at Outdoor World ~ Williamsburg.

Oct. 9 - 11 Fall Festival Weekend - The days are getting shorter and the nights longer and cooler. Try your hand at some campfire cooking. If you have a favorite recipe, please share it with us. We'll show movies in the lounge - your choice! Check out some of the local festivals in our area.

Oct. 16 - 18 Nature's Bounty Weekend - Take advantage of the many farm stands and orchards in our area to make your favorite fall dishes. The nights are getting cooler, so cuddle up with the one you love by the campfire. You may also want to go for a swim in our indoor pool or spend time relaxing in our spa.

October 23-25 Ghosts & Goblins Weekend - Halloween has become so popular in Williamsburg that we need two weekends to share the fun with everyone. Show off your silly and scary costumes. We'll have a dance on Friday night to get your weekend started. On Saturday, we'll make crafts with the kids, go trick-or-treating around the campground and invite you into our famous Haunted House.

October 30-November 1 Halloween Weekend - Our second Halloween weekend kicks off with our Monster Bash on Friday night. Saturday's activities begin with pumpkin carving. Then we'll gather together for trick-or-treating with the kids. We'll really scare the yell out of you if you dare to enter our Haunted House. Who knows what will be lurking around every turn!
